This show started in 1989 as primarily a local juried art show. Over the years it has grown into a nationally recognized juried show, with participating artists from all over the United States.

The title of the show reflects the fact that Oklahoma is in the center of the United States. If you flip open an atlas, the state of Oklahoma would be on the centerfold.

The show's title comes from the location of the show and does not restrict the artist to portraying Oklahoma. The theme is open to the artist’s interpretation. The show is open to any artist who resides in the continental United States. An artist may submit up to three works for consideration.
