2008-2009

Come fight deadly dull lunch hours with us in our comfortable gallery!

Lunch Bag Lectures turn 21 and are still going strong. The Lunch Bag Crowd examines subjects that include arts, history, geography, music, travel, science, and mythology—all topics of great interest and importance. And of course we have special holiday performances. Children over the age of 14 welcome. Don’t miss a one!

2008 - 2009 Season Lecture Schedule

Free of charge and open to the public.

The noon Lunch Bag Lectures are held the third Thursday of the month from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 D Ave., in Lawton. The time gives you plenty of time to arrive and depart during the lunch hour, with maybe a minute or two to browse the gallery.

Bring your own lunch or try our refreshment and beverage table. Bring a friend or come alone and make a new pal -- there are no strangers at the Lunch Bag Lectures -- this is where the most interesting people in Lawton gather.

Lunch Bag Lecture Fun

Following the Valentine Evening 2005 poetry reading, Lawton's own mystery author, JoAnna Carl (aka Eve K. Sandstrom), left, signed copies of "The Chocolate Puppy Puzzle," the latest in her series of Chocoholic Mysteries.

Music lover and collector Bill Cunningham, left, gets ready for a lively discussion of all things music, from Chopin to Muddy Waters and The Grateful Dead.

See what music lovers picked
as their all-time favorites.
